From the book

You cannot waste a life you are still living. You can lose time. You can lose seasons. But you cannot waste a life that keeps choosing forward.

About
the book

Anne Hill was a smart, idealistic, searching person when she walked straight into Scientology — and spent the next two decades there. Joy Without Apology is the story of what it took to walk out, and what it took to become herself again.

This is not a survivor's story. It's an identity story. The journey from I ruined my life to the quiet, earned realization that you never needed permission to be here. That healing is not something you finish. And that the part of you that laughed and played and wanted things — Little Anne, Little You — never left. It was just waiting.

Written for anyone who believes they are broken, behind, or too late. You are none of those things.

About
Anne

Anne Hill spent eighteen years inside Scientology's Sea Organization before walking out in August 2007. What followed was a midlife reinvention she didn't plan for — rebuilding identity, trust, and the capacity for joy from the ground up.

She is a memoir author, coach, and healthcare content strategist. Her writing centers on the experience of women reclaiming themselves after coercive control — not as a dramatic transformation, but as the quiet, repetitive, stubborn work it actually is.

Joy Without Apology is her first book.
